Loughborough by the Sea, the annual fair bringing a beach atmosphere to the landlocked county, will be extended to a full week for the first time. The event will take place in Market Place from 17 August, running from 10:00 to 16:00 each day.

The event is usually held as a weekend attraction but has been expanded this year. It will feature a funfair and live entertainment.

About the event

Loughborough by the Sea is organised by Charnwood Borough Council in partnership with Love Loughborough BID and I Need a Fun Fair.

Jennifer Tillotson, council member for housing, economic development, regeneration and town centres, said the extension gives more people the chance to enjoy the event. "Loughborough by the Sea has become a popular event in our town centre, bringing families together and creating a fantastic atmosphere for residents and visitors alike," she said. "By extending the event to a full week this year, we're giving even more people the opportunity to enjoy the attractions, entertainment and seaside fun while supporting our local businesses and market traders."
